Natural Wonders.

A cenote is a natural sinkhole, that occurs when the limestone bedrock breaks (sinks) and exposes groundwater. Cenotes are on the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico. The ancient Maya commonly used cenotes for water supplies, and occasionally for sacrificial offerings. Tours are available offering cenote exploration.
